Why I'm Starting Úbūchi Tea
Because we've normalized burnout, while chronic stress, inflammation, and hormone disruption silently affect our health, especially for women.
As a society, we've learned to live with daily fatigue, stress, poor sleep, and imbalance, chalking them up to "just life" instead of seeing them as signs of deeper biological stress. Yet these are fundamental health issues rooted in our physiology, and over time they can show up as serious conditions: from fibroids and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) to thyroid dysfunction, metabolic disorders, chronic inflammation, and even autoimmune conditions that disproportionately affect women. According to recent data, over 40 % of women in the U.S. experience symptoms consistent with hormonal imbalance, and nearly one in three women in the UK report similar disruption: often without realizing the root cause ( Medical News, 2025). Despite its prevalence, hormonal disruption is still dismissed, ignored, or misunderstood.
68 % of women don't seek help even when experiencing symptoms that could indicate serious hormonal issues like PCOS, thyroid conditions, or metabolic dysfunction (The EveryGirl, 2025).
And it's not just women. Men's hormone systems can also be affected by chronic stress and inflammation. For example, elevated cortisol can interfere with testosterone production, impairing energy, mood, metabolic health, and libido (Medichecks, 2025).
My Story
After years of corporate stress, I reached a breaking point: I was exhausted, constantly tense, and battling chronic inflammation. I tried resting, sleeping, even taking supplements, but nothing fully helped. At first, I brushed it off. But when I started digging into the science behind fatigue and stress, I learned something that changed everything: daily fatigue and chronic inflammation are not normal, they're signals that your body is under biological strain, often linked to hormonal disruption and long‑term health consequences.
This realization led me to explore how our internal biochemistry including the microbiome in our gut and reproductive system: drives mood, energy, inflammation, and hormonal balance. Modern lifestyle factors like stress, high‑sugar diets, heavy reliance on caffeine or stimulants, and poor sleep can disrupt these systems, impairing the delicate balance of hormones that regulate everything from metabolism to fertility.
My Personal Solution
So I started making my own tea not just for flavor, but for precision and purpose. I wanted a daily ritual that could help me:
- Restore energy
- Reduce chronic inflammation
- Support hormonal balance
- Promote mental clarity and calm
…all naturally, through something I genuinely enjoyed drinking: without pills, expensive treatments, or more caffeine spikes.
And the results surprised me. Within weeks:
-
My chronic inflammation eased
-
My energy stabilized
-
I felt more mentally calm
-
My skin improved
-
My daily stress responses softened
It was the first time I felt like my body was finally aligned with my lifestyle, not fighting against it.
